In this video Roger Smolik, a Business Broker working with Transworld Business Advisors of Denver introduces himself to the Denver Metro community and shares a little about his thoughts on the state of Colorado.
Video Transcript: Hi - Roger Smolik - Business Broker with Transworld Business Advisors. We help entrepreneurs acquire, sell, franchise and finance businesses of all kinds. I’m from the Twin Cities, where winter is cold, humor is dry, and a sense of humor is useful if you’re a Vikings fan. I graduated from Bethel College, which is now Bethel University, and then I moved to L.A. Growing up with frozen feet and; mosquitos, a West Coast move was not a wrenching decision at the time.
In financial brokerage, I worked for boutique firms on Wilshire Blvd. and in Sherman Oaks. I then opened and ran a boutique firm’s branch operations. After time in Southern California, I founded a boutique firm in Colorado, with specialties in oil and gas, geothermal energy, banknote conversions, resort real estate development, and green technology financing. I’ve also worked on infrastructure developments in Europe, the Caribbean, and in Central America. A background in communications, sales, and in psychology helped me become more attentive to both what clients say – and don't say. Appreciating the perspective, goals and hopes of our clients is essential to try to best serve their needs.
When I look at Denver’s growth – the next great city of the West is being built right in front of us, and we get to participate in that growth. I’ve always enjoyed seeing businesses and projects incubate, grow, mature and evolve – and it’s gratifying to play a part in that process. Transworld provides an opportunity to participate in Colorado’s growing and thriving economy. I enjoy working with many companies - service providers, technical companies, and; healthcare related businesses. We help people achieve their goals by helping them to strategically acquire businesses, and by helping entrepreneurs to grow existing businesses through franchising and financing options. We also help people to eventually sell and divest of the businesses that they’ve worked hard to build, grow and expand over the years – and sometimes over decades. We enjoy helping them achieve their well-earned financial payoff from all of their years of effort.
Our satisfaction comes from helping our clients to achieve their target goals. Colorado is a special place. I visited Colorado many times as a kid, and as an adult on vacations. Its haunting beauty stays with you. I’ve lived in Colorado since 1991, and I’m not surprised the secret is out about this great state, and I’m proud to work with the businesses of my fellow entrepreneurial Coloradans.
